Inglorious Idols Challenge

"No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other." - Matthew 6:24 (ESV™)

Throughout the Bible, God shows us the importance of meditating on His word daily. He desires to have a relationship with us and this requires us knowing Him. If a man truly loves his wife, how much would he investigate her to know her fully ... to love her fully? God's word also protects us in the great spiritual battle. In Ephesians 6:13-17, it is one of the key battle items that we are to equip ourselves with (and the only offensive weapon listed). When Satan tempted Jesus in the desert, Jesus used scripture to rebuke every one of his attacks. Matthew 5:18 tells us that God's word will outlast even the earth and the heavens.

So, why do we so often put more importance on earthly things rather than meditating on God's word? Whether it's food (John 6:27), excerise (1 Corinthians 9:24-27), leisure (2 Thessalonians 3:7), work (Mark 8:36) ... you name it, our excuses are the same ... "We don't have enough time." If meditating on scripture is so important, how do we centralize it in our lives? What if for one month we vowed to make it more important than a certain area of our life that has too much focus (Matthew 6:24)? Use this tool to keep track of your daily meditation on God's word and help God come before idol. Click here to learn more.

Reborn Logo Unveiled

This month we unveiled the Reborn Entertainment logo and wanted to take some time to explain the meaning behind it as well as our design process.

The Design: We began by creating a list of requirements and guidelines that we wanted to follow. The logo shouldn't merely be a work of art but a functional representation of our company. It needs to embody who we are and what we stand for. We came up with the following ingredients:

Christ: Our primary purpose is "to illuminate Biblical truths while strengthening Christians through engaging entertainment." Therefore, clearly portraying Christ is essential.

Reborn: The entire logo needs to convey "Reborn" even when the title is omitted.

Simplicity: The logo needs to be simple enough to be used with any number of styles and themes. Having a simple design that can be "decorated" will allow us to have fun with it.

Artistic: Entertainment is an extremely creative industry and this is our perfect opportunity to express ourselves.

Intrigue: As with most of our designs, we want the logo's meaning to be semi elusive and cause people to think and ask questions. (If you're reading this, you want to see our answer to the riddle; but first, what is yours?)

Digital: Being primarily a software entertainment company, we need our logo to have a digital and slightly game like feel.

The Meaning: To include all of these different components, we thought it best if our logo told a story. A story of a man pierced lying naked and vulnerable to the world. What had penetrated his heart wasn't a bullet or blade or disease, but the cross of Christ. This man died to the world but was reborn to a new life ... a new purpose. No longer was he a slave, defenseless to the wiles of this world. Armed with the sword of the Spirit, he is now prepared for spiritual battle.

Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. – Mark 8:34 (NKJV™)

What is Christian learning software?

Since the inception of Reborn Entertainment, one of the questions that we are most frequently asked is "What is Christian learning software?" In this update, we set out to clarify the meaning of learning software and answer several questions.

What do we mean by learning software?
Learning software is much what it sounds like ... software that is used as a tool to help participants learn. This can be learning how to speak a new language, learning how to operate a power plant, and even learning how to best respond to a natural disaster. This software makes learning a more enjoyable experience while opening up new possibilities and realities.

What does learning software accomplish?
Learning software uses current technologies to advance our understanding of the world around us in an interactive setting. It allows us to manipulate something as small as a molecule and observe the effects, or follow a raindrop along its cycle back to the sky, or explore our solar system, galaxy, and beyond.

How can learning software be used to teach people about Christianity?
We, at Reborn Entertainment, are developing learning software as a tool to help bring the knowledge of Christ to life in people. A whole new richness and a memorable experience is attained when you can follow Moses on his travels, sit under the moonlight next to a fire and listen to Jesus, stand in the Synagogue and witness to the Sadducees, and participate with the apostles as they challenge the world to follow Christ. The possibilities are truly endless.

The Meaning Of Reborn

So, why was Reborn Entertainment chosen as the title for this company? Let's start with explaining what we see in the word "reborn". First, and most importantly, it is closely associated with the term "born again" which all true Christians are.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. – John 1:12-13 (NKJV™)

John recorded what Jesus had to say about being reborn to Nicodemus:

Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?"

Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.'" – John 3: 3-7 (NKJV™)

Birth means new life and spiritual birth means dying to our old selves and being reborn into God's life and nature. We no longer desire to go back to the foul things of the world that once appealed to us (2 Peter 2:20-22). The word "again" is also translated as meaning "from above." So, being born again means being born from above or born of God. All Christians are literally God's children.

Reborn Entertainment is a reborn company. It is a company that is born from above. We hold to Biblical truths and know that we are accountable for all of our motives and actions. We have been entrusted with this company to do great things throughout the world so that God’s glory may be magnified. Reborn Entertainment is committed to serving people and strengthening them through Christ.

Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and whoever loves the Father loves the child born of Him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith. Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? – 1 John 5:1-5 (NASB™)

Reborn also means being revived or regenerated. We are breaking the mold and creating a new way of looking at entertainment. One that is edifying and engaging. This is entertainment reborn!

Explanation of the Reborn Website

Home Page Explained
Each page has a graphic at the top which visually demonstrates what is relayed in the content below. The general concept behind each page is that without Christ, we live in darkness and put our trust in a ship that's sinking. The land represents the safety which Christ offers. Built on the land is a lighthouse representing Reborn Entertainment. When you place your cursor over the graphic, you will see a beam of light coming from the lighthouse. The light is God's truth revealing what is in the darkness, and Reborn Entertainment represents a channel for this light to travel through.

Entertainment Page Explained
In this scene, the person swinging on the rope represents someone who is caught up in the excitement and thrill of having fun in today's violent and lewd entertainment. He doesn't seem to care that he can't see where the rope is leading him. The lightning will periodically show the dangers he's heading into as will the light cast from the lighthouse.

Training Tools Page Explained
This scene depicts a teacher that is teaching two kids. The teacher seems to be pointing the kids to truth as the kids look on with interest. But, unveil the darkness and a different story is really being told. They are in a classroom that is part of the sinking ship. The teacher is not pointing toward the absolute safety that Christ offers, but a chalk board showing how the ship they are putting their hope in was built with an open mind (not using any standards). The chains that restrain the kids to the deck represent how kids are not taught to think for themselves on these issues. Rather, other people's ideas are forced upon them.

Visual Arts Page Explained
This page shows two people watching what looks to be a violent movie on their TV screen. Fairly harmless, right? Well, shed some light on this and you'll see that what they think they are watching on TV is really happening right before their own eyes. They are on the sinking ship, but are too distracted by what is going on to realize the immediate dangers they face. What we watch influnces our lives by desensitizing us to sinful behaviors, promoting unrealistic realities, and robbing us of our time.

Missions Page Explained
On this page, we are showing a person putting their trust and hope in what he thinks is a life boat. The boat represents the widely accepted false beliefs that abound in the world today. The light reveals that this boat is nothing more than an illusion. He is trusting on an anchor to keep him afloat.

Contact Us Page Explained
The scene on this page shows someone who is signaling towards the lighthouse. He doesn't fully realize the desperate situation he is in but is looking for a light to illuminate his path.

"Then they willingly received Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land where they were going." - John 6:21(NKJV™)

The Reason For Reborn Entertainment

More and more Christians are losing the ability and desire to defend their faith. No longer are people deeply concerned with what they believe or even if the beliefs they have make any sense below their thin surface. We are in an age of moral relativism. People should do what makes them feel good about themselves, right? Wrong! To live a life that is lead by feelings, not caring to seek the truth, is to live a life of lies.

It is disturbing how a book like Davinci's Code can be soaked up like a sponge, yet the Bible, which has withstood the harshest of times and criticism, can be tossed aside and rejected. Even on Christian's nightstands, books like Pilgrims Progress & Mere Christianity are being replaced with less threatening books. Many pastors are removing the Bible from their sermons so they won't offend the people in their church. With lack of motivation and few outside influences, how is a Christian to learn what is necessary for life ... what is necessary to help other people ... how to answer people when others stumble on difficult questions?

Why does God allow suffering?

What makes a Christian any different than a non-Christian?

How does believing in Christ do anything for my soul?

Why does God send "good" people to hell?

We're not going to learn this in our schools. We're not going to learn this while vegging out in front of the TV. We're not going to learn this while spending hours playing video games ... or are we?

We've all seen the statistics on how much time our TVs and computers consume and how much of what we're viewing is not just useless but extremely harmful. Well, Reborn Entertainment has been created not to jump on this bandwagon, but to take a stand and make a difference in our audience's lives. We are bringing His Truth to life. This is entertainment reborn.
